How do people test ringtone offers, just make sure a pin is sent to the phone? Will affiliate managers do this for you - I've sent just over a 100 clicks to the final offer page, and no conversion yet. The supposed conversion rate for this offer is 8%, so I thought I'd at least expect 1 lead out of 100 clicks.

plug in your own cell phone # and test

you don't get charged until you enter the pin, so don't enter it

oh in that case ask your am to plug in their cell phone if they are in the US, they shouldn't have a problem with doing that

I put in this giant campaign in last night, and it was late 3 am, forgot to turn off CN. the campaign was targetted for search lol.

so I get up this morning, to find like 140 clicks and $41 spend, but did make $40.5 in sales. turned that shit off for now, now im negative -$28 on that campaign. made a clone set for search only, hopefully ill get some good quality traffic with that.

Ya know, Google really pisses me off. I added two new ad groups early this morning and set a high content bid to get started ($.60 click). So then every half hour I am checking to see if my adgroup is getting impressions, and did it up until 4PM today. No impressions.

I get home from work and check at 5pm and to my surprise I have all these clicks and impressions that are at my high bid price? I'm pretty sure I didn't get 325,000 impressions in the one hour I was away from the computer. I just spent $100 on $20 in sales. WTF is up with that when Google basically doesn't report anything to you until the end of the day, and then when you finally find out what happened it's too late to change your bid to a lower amount because you've already been shafted.

Is this always how it works? I always thought their reporting and clicks/impressions are up to date, but this seems to be pretty sneaky how they can get away with all these extra clicks by not reporting this information real-time.

I was wondering a couple things if you could answer, are you using site-placement? are there a few sites that are bringing your conversions that are related to your landing page?

is the original "cat food" page as yours, or the site that's advertising you on the content network?

so in other words is it --

google content network page ---> cat food page (yours)--->landing page--->merchant? (total 4 pages from the viewers perspective)

    or is it

cat food page(google content network page) ----> your landing page ----->merchant (total 3 pages from the viewers perspective)

also what do you think about image ads?

    Thanks

Just to clarify, will adwords conversion tracking work with this principle? (ie. passing them from site to site)

I'm not so sure about that because for a couple hours I had no impressions on my other adgroups as well, and then BAM I had a bunch of impressions with those adgroups too. Those adgroups have been running a few weeks now.

Anyways, whether it's real time or not it just seems like Google starts the campaign at such "convenient" times which is pure coincidence but funny how that can really screw you over so quickly
