The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600 rebate this year! This nice gift from the government supposed to help our economy. They want us to spend that money and grow the economy..lol If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India . If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala . If we purchase a car it will go to Japan . If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep that money here at United States is to buy prostitutes and booze , since these are the only products still produced in the US .

Helping the primary market in countries that you have stated is a GOOD thing for the USA so that you can get on with investing in the tertiary sector where the money is. If we purchase a car it will go to Japan . If you purchase a Japanease car it will go to Japan who will invest in car manufacturing sites over in America. If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. If you purchase useless crap over the internet from Taiwan factories then yes. But if they are exporting to the USA and the USA are selling the "Taiwan Crap" then the money stays in your economy.

Not much. The government wastes far more money now that it has outsourced major activities to the private sector than it ever did before. You want to save tax money? Get rid of the contractors and return the government to doing the government's job.
I live in the United States, if everyone gives me half of their refund check, it is gauranteeds that at least 50% of it will stay here!
