Government sending US residents $600

The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600 rebate this year! This nice gift from the government supposed to help our economy. They want us to spend that money and grow the economy..lol

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China.

If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.

If we purchase a computer it will go to India .

If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala .

If we purchase a car it will go to Japan .

If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at United States is to buy prostitutes and booze , since these are the only products still produced in the US .

that will pay about 1 month's worth of gas. Another stupid, worthless idea by the government. Imagine how much we could really save if we started cutting some gov't salaries, gov't pensions, all expenses paid limos and gov't employee cars, etc.

If they REALLY think that just handing money out to us middle-classers is going to fix the economy, GW has a lot to learn. I'm only 22 and I can already see the blatant idiocracy in this. Not that I don't like him as a person, I'm sure he's a great guy... he just doesn't belong in office anymore.

What? It will go to your petrol companies who in turn buy petrol from the Middle East and then the Middle East will invest in America. Money going out of your economy is a GOOD thing right now seeing as your currency is incredibly weak.

No, it will go to the businesses selling the computer in the USA. The only money that goes to India is the money spent from the companies purchasing the computer for a very low price.

America doesn't grow veg anymore? Helping the primary market in countries that you have stated is a GOOD thing for the USA so that you can get on with investing in the tertiary sector where the money is.

If you purchase useless crap over the internet from Taiwan factories then yes. But if they are exporting to the USA and the USA are selling the "Taiwan Crap" then the money stays in your economy.

Not much. The government wastes far more money now that it has outsourced major activities to the private sector than it ever did before. You want to save tax money? Get rid of the contractors and return the government to doing the government's job.

I live in the United States, if everyone gives me half of their refund check, it is gauranteeds that at least 50% of it will stay here!
