Publisher has their own discounted rate? Is this the norm?

I am getting set to try my hand at promoting a clickbank product for the first time. I found a product that I thought looked good and would fit my niche.

My concern is that in doing some additional research I see that the publisher has a seperate site that is very similar to the pitch page, but they are offering it for $10 less if you go directly through that site.

Again I am new to this and maybe that is normal, but my concern is if I spend all this time promoting the product and especially if I invest Adword dollars, why would someone purchase through my link when they can find the publishers link directly and purchase it for $10 less? And if I am trying to create trust from my readers can I promote this in good conscience when I know they could easily get the same thing elsewhere for less.

    Any insights into this? Thanks.

This is not that unusual. I tend to avoid promoting those type of products if they are easy to find in the SERPS.

I stay away from them too. There are far too many merchants out there that are willing to help their affiliates make money.

I don't promote the greedy ones.
