I'm pretty sure the blue/black rep are from those with less than 50 threads. The can't pass rep either pos/neg till they hit the magic number.
umm. I don't think so. You should actually contribute to the forum before you have the ability to impact someones rep. They just have rep training wheels on. It's good practice anyway! It probably took me 50 posts before I even got around to checking into what the green dots were anyway.

so sorry. I guess thread/post is not interchangeable. Yes starting 50 threads WOULD be harsh. Contribute to any number of threads by posting 50 times.

There is no reason to complain about getting red reps. It is something usual. I used to have 3 green before but now I have 2. Don't ask why.
yeah, changing your username can help for example you can change it to www.WebmasterTalk.us people are more used to links with www at the beginning, so try it out, I'm sure you'll get more greens this way
