    How often do you backup your directories db?

    I personally do it every day after I have gone through the listings.

    I do it manually, backing up the entire directories sites instead. Normally more on a weekly basis.

    Backups should be taken once a week, but many of us dont have time for that.

    Backups should be done once a day if possible, more if you have fast changing content. You can set this to auto via your cpanel on most servers.

    Don't leave it to weekly if you add lots of content, trust me, you'll regret it.

    How do you automate the process of backup of the database on PHPLD v2? I don't have cpanel but I have cron jobs option (DreamHost).

    I will laugh long and hard if your host ever lost a hard drive. All your little tutorials, templates, listings would be gone forever. You would loose all reputation you built up and would be in serious debt when customers came calling to ask where their listings have vanished to.

    I backup the db's and home directory backups every single night, i make sure i do it within my last hour online.

    And dont wait too long to get them backed up on cd.

    If you really want to be careful, make double copies and store them in a relatives house, incase your house burns down. :)

    I wouldn't laugh at them, you wouldn't like them laughing at you? I wouldn't wish a loss of data on anyone. but I'd certainly say, 'I told you so'. ;)
