I work for myself and need to be working all office hours plus at least another 20 hours per week. I'm sure loads of DP members must be in the same position. I've been working like this for almost two years and overall I'm very happy with my circumstances the only thing is I've fallen into bad ways. When I travelled to work every day in all kinds of weather and traffic jams at least I was getting exercise - a 20 minute walk each way, now I get little or no exercise. Also I had a routine for meals, now I skip them and grab and eat snacks in front of my computer. What finally caused me to confess on here was the cold sag aloo I've just had for a late breakfast (left over from last night). I think enough is enough. Has anyone been to the brink like me and recovered enough to start eating healthily and enjoying regular exercise? How did you do it? How long did it take to get back to fighting weight? Did you ever get back to it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who could do with some tips and words of advice - or am I?! PS sag aloo is a potatoe and spinach curry - very delicious
I'm getting proky but it coz Im preggo but some of it has to do with me sitting my ass at comp alot. Try doing some chair exercises and clenching ya butt cheeks each time you make a post then do 5 arm curls one way and 5 the other way after you posted 25 times you should feel like you had a good work out hehe
I live next to the beach, so normally I had a 5-8 km walk/jog in the morning. Try it, I can assure you, you will be refresh for the entire day.
So does that mean an advanced workout for surfaddict is going to the gym and jumping rope while playing with ya balls? LOL just messin
I pay more attention to my diet. Never develop hatred towards your most beloved food by just overeating it. Always stop consuming it at a point even though the satiety level is not reached. Couple the regulated diet with the physical activities. I allot a minimum of 30 minutes a day for physical work (exercise). By this way, I keep a check on the waistline; because "waistline is the lifeline"
at least 2, its good for you. i have a regular job, i am a framing carpenter, we build custom homes. i'm in the best shape of my life. its a good workout and keeps me healthy.
Take a break sometime in the day and walk or exercise during that break. doing nothing but sitting in front of the screen is just not healthy.
Walk into the park. You will have a great relaxation low workout in the same time. Of course if you want to burn some extra calories play some sport or go to gym.
aaargh I hear you pal, Ive got a bad back, putting on weight, no sleeping pattern, no eating pattern. Its driving me crazy and what bugs me more then anything is that I simply cant do what I do online and generate quality work when it suits me, I have to be in the right mind frame and have some creative juices flowing to
I workout at the local Y. They are open from 5 am until 10 pm (they also have daycare) so you can pretty much squeeze in some time no matter what your work schedule is. I have to go at 5 am, if I don't go first thing in the morning I'll make excuses not to go all day.
I got real fatty.my weight increased-about 8-10 kg.I am trying to control my diet for last 1 month and got some result.I am jogging every afternoon for about 30 minutes. It keeps me fit.
Eat like a diabetic even if your not. Ive heard this can work so I'm trying it now since I'm in the same position as you. No matter what though you cant skimp on exercise. Its a must for a healthy enjoyable life
I know what keeps me fit and what would keep me fit - my thing is the motivation to start and then to keep it up. So far the best idea above I think is to reward myself with pleasant exercise if I hit my day's target. I was hoping for a miracle cure for being a computer slob - a special mix of vitamins perhaps or someone saying they put a "pink patch" on and they haven't been able to stop exercising and eating healthily since! Somebody told me 5-HTP worked for them - have you heard of it? Is it legal?
