301 redirct

    As you know when you do link:[domain].com you can see all the websites linking to that website, but does this also pick up all the websites that are linking via 301 redircts? If no, then how can you find out about people who are linking via 301's?

    Sure, 301's show up (use Yahoo SiteExplorer for the most comprehensive list).

    Best way to track this would be your own referrer logs.

    ...do not want to track 301's through logs, all I want to know is if site are sending you traffic through 301 re-directs will they appear as website that are linking to me when using link:mydomain.com

    If you really want to check you could always add some query string variable in your redirect url. It will water down your link with extra junk but you could see exactly where its coming from.
