I'll keep an eye on this post... I personally haven't myself and I don't really think it is effective anymore as it use to be.

    I have.
I own a traffic exchange with 1675+ members and I've made $242.74 this month in Rocket Profit offers that I've sent to our members.
Also check out my thread in the Traffic Section where I am selling these emails for $4 each.

i would have thought that with agressive spam filtering by many email providers now its becomming less and less effective

It is less effective than it used to be, but it's still a great way to make money, when you have a well put together list that looks forward to getting your emails because you treat them like gold, you can make a killing. There are lots of people who make $5-$10 per person per month from their list, usually in niche markets. I have a small list in the make money online industry that is of pretty poor quality right now, i haven't spent much time on it, and as an example I sent out a simple 2 minute email and made myself about $100. $100 for 2 min of work is not too bad. Email marketing is deffinately worth it, but you gotta now what you're doing. Or else you can destroy what would have been a high quality list.

    Well,
I've recently ive created a blackhat method of making massive amounts of profits by email marketing. I am not trying to sell you anything but i am simply just letting you know that it is possible. If you are interested in email marketing, PM me.

I have considered trying it but I've never gotten around to it, I just feel that in today's market 90% of what I have to say will get stuck in a spam filter somewhere.

If you do correctly with strategic plan, for sure your email campaign will 100% work. For example,

    1) start collecting high quality opt in email.
    2) follow up mail to your list by giving something valuable free items like software, script, report and each.
    3) After 5-6 follow up, build credibility, now it is the time to penetrate your email list market by selling your own product, where there already trust you.

The point here, do it correctly, not SPAMMING. :)

Yep yep yep! I'm earning 900-1000USD per month with Clickbank. 90% of the traffic are coming from email marketing, the other 10 is from PPC.

Wow, you salvage the list yourself or you brought it?
How big your list, and wht's the conversion?

From my point of view, i simply think that once you provide "unsubscribe link", then you no longer consider as SPAM.

But you know what? i received this shit mail in my inbox, and i unsubscribe them, but it never stop...... i still get lots of junk in my inbox

I did $5000 in sales last week from a single newsletter, does that count as successful?

    Basically:

    • Don't pack your emails with ads
    • Get whitelisted
    • Use a good EMS like AWeber.com
    • Be CAN-SPAM compliant *this is the most important guideline*
    • Only provide what you promise on the signup page, if you tell them you'll only provide them with content don't include advertising! All my newsletter signup pages blatently say "We will send you offers...", but we keep it to less then 10% of the content in every email.

it depends on how the list was generated. usually bulk emails are very weak. ezine newsletters depending on their quality will have better leads/conversions.

my list is too big. :D
well maybe half of them are no longer working.. just don't have time to verify the list that i have for me to remove the non working email addresses. i'm not using any auto responder, can't afford it. I'm sending it directly using the smtp server of my ISP.
I do have a removal option that goes to my database hosted by godaddy. Then I manually get those who unsubscribe from my list here at home. :)

haven't really tried it yet but it is promising. There are a lot of sites online that offer it. Just needs double validation if the site is secure or not
