I have heard that it is better to match your adsense colors with the site. I seem to have better luck making the advertisements stand out but I want them too. Am I wrong? Would I get more adsense traffic if the colors are coordinated?

If its in a text menu looking area, i think it helps to blend, but if its in the center hot zone i think its good to be flashy

If your users are average, normal people with only an average understanding of Internet marketing, then make the ads blend. They will see them as ordinary links within the site.

If your users are web designers, computer geeks, programmers, bloggers, Internet marketers, or anything like that-- then make the ads stand out in hopes that something will catch their eye.

In my experience, it is best for the ads to match the site's color scheme. However, I have learned this is not the case if your site is a basic black and white site - in this case, it is best to use the default Google scheme (blue and black and green).

no one likes to be sold and no one visits a websote to click on ads. its just that simple. if you want to improved your CTR, you must blend in your ad color with site layout. make it look like part of your site. its been tested to work better by lot of larger sites.

Thanks everyone! I have changed things and made the links on the site match the title of the adsense ads which is from the original "open air" palette. It seems to work well. SO it seems so far that blending my site in with that palette help the CTR. Time will tell. I am going to leave it for a wekk and will let you know next Sat. 3/29 how it worked.

It really depends, only trial and error will help you figure out what works best. Some of my sites make more with blended ads other do better with ads that stand out more.

If the site background is light, then blend.
If site background is dark, blend or make the ads stand out.

I personally prefer to the blend them to suit my site. I cringe at sites that have the default ad sticking out like a sore thumb :D
