    Hey guys,

I am back to the best place to hold a logo contest. In fact this is my only place to hold a contest. DP rocks.

I need a professional looking logo made up of these four words:

    West African Cocoa Beans

You can use whatever colours you want, whatever style you want but it must look professional and have an African sort of theme and look. It would also be great if you could incorporate some kind of cocoa beans as part of the logo. At this stage I think I prefer a rugged, brownish looking design but if you have other ideas that could better symbolise west African cocoa beans that would be great.

I want to end this contest in no more than 48hrs from the time of this post.

Winner gets $20 via paypal and second place also gets $10 via paypal. I would also like the 2nd place to send the psd files but it's up to the second place getter.

Any questions please ask. Thanks to all.

It's actually for both. It will go on a website as well as on a label. I am not a designer so just out of curiosity what is the reason you ask?

Proteindude, if it's for web, he'll more than likely just design it in standard 72dpi, but if it's for print he'll crack on with a 300dpi model of the logo, so it looks more defined when blown up to a large scale :)

Hey Speno. Good to see you. It's been a while. I guess all this time you must've been celebrating England's win in the Rugby World Cup. Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense ;)

You're right DaveyBoy. How in the world I got it so wrong? England made the final against overwhelming odds which is a great achievement. Is your trip to US paid by the designers here at dp? Just so they have a chance to win some contests while you're away :p Anyway, enjoy the trip. I'm sure you'll have nice weather.

Haha! PD I thought only us English were good at sarcasm ;). Yeah it has been a long time, I love your contests though, so i'm gonna be the first to enter. Its similar to one I used in an old contest of yours, but has a different feel to it!

Let me know what you think!

Speno, honestly mate, I actually thought England won. I am getting a little old so my memory fades sometimes. England won the previous RWC. Or should I say Johnny Wilkinson won it? Lucky I had daveyBoy who reminded me. But I still had to do a quick search to see if he was right.
Back to the contest that is more important than the RWC :D Thanks for entering it and for being the first. I like this logo but I think it's a little hard to read. It's a little squeezed in and that makes it a little hard to read. It's nice, it's pleasant but it's maybe just a touch too simple.

offiri0: thanks for the entry. It's a pleasant one and it has a lot of potential. There is something missing which I'm not sure what it is. However one thing I'm not sure about and maybe that is only me, but I think the cocoa bean looks too big somehow. Maybe it's just me again but it appears a little too big for a cocoa bean. Perhaps instead of having one single bean would have looked better with three or four smaller ones. But this is definitely going in the right direction.

speno: thanks for the new one. It has very pleasant colours that grow on me the more I look at them. I still think the writing is a little hard to read. Perhaps the "o"s in the cocoa could have been changed to cocoa beans. You've kind of did that already. Not 100% sure about your entry but the colours you used are definitely growing on me. I may ask for a change but will only ask for that if you're in the top two. ps, besides cricket there is one other "sport" I don't follow much, and that is formula 1. In fact there is a lot of controversy for us in Melbourne because the state government keeps propping up this Melbourne Grand Prix and it's us tax payers who are paying for it. It's been running at a loss for a few years now. It's because of these high taxes I have to pay that I can't afford to pay more for my contests here. It's unfair the government is choosing to sponsor this formula 1 contest in Melbourne and not my contest here at dp (hence the smaller prize)

I need to get some rest now but I will be back later.

Hey patrick. Thanks for the entry. Quick feedback before I'm off to bed. It's strange but I thought if I was to design myself a logo for this contest I would do some kind of a stamp of text on cocoa powder which is similar to what you did. I like the font, I like the way you wrote it but I could not use an actual postage stamp. The way it is, to win this contest you would need to somehow incorporate some cocoa powder or beans next to the text that you did which looks good.
