Here it is a trick to boost your earnings and Cost Per Click:

Reduce the number of ads your website shows. Showing too much ads lowers your ctr because the user cannot click on all ads. Google also rewards Adwords advertisers who get a higher CTR, so if you display too many ads, the CTR will be lower and Google will lower the Advertiser ad position. If the advertiser goes down, you go down with him. Remember that you are showing Adwords ads, not Google ads.

Make content related to shopping. Your users might start wanting to buy something and guess what? Your ads are right there to sell.

Don´t place ads in impulsive clicking places. Google wants genuine clicks from interested users who might buy the product advertised, not impulsive clicks from people who will leave the site in the next 7 seconds. Also don´t place ads in pages where the user has no other place to go, he might click on the ad because there is nothing else to go on your site.

Try Adwords and see how the entire system works. Now you can see what advertisers want from your site! Help them selling more and they will reward you with higher cost per click prices!!! :D

Too many ads will lead to too little clicks - A point to ponder.

hmmm... what your saying makes sense but taking ads out of impulsive areas will make it so you get virtually no clicks. i guess you have to find some equalibreum point that will make your earning the best. thanks tho

It depends on the niche. Links units are also great in key areas.

This has worked for many. Lower the number of ads and the CTR climbs :)
