Everytime I see these sales, I wanted to slap myself, I was on the Internet more than 10 years ago, why am I so stupid not to buy some more domains as such :(

10 years from now, we'll be slapping ourselves again, asking why we didn't do whatever we're slapping ourselves for.

Thats assuming these domains would just die...these domains are the ones that are always going be the high ranked. www.Games4FreeFunLoveHAHAHAGAMES.com is always going to be a terrible domain, no matter its age.

I can’t help but think that their $10M could have been invested somewhere else and provided a much larger return. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t feel like the name really has that much to do with business success?
(Not like the name Google had much significance before it got started...)

As opposed to having a name that’s super easy to remember, why not spend the money on SEO, marketing...? I guess that’s what happens when you have too much money, you start spending frivolously and you loose touch with reality.

I feel that domain names are more like assets nowadays, no longer are they virtual property and intangibles. They do have substantial value associated with them. Buying a domain is more like buying a house now.

For the Top 20, the rest of them seemed to be quite unimpressive with only fund.com being more of an outlier.

I think more and more businesses are realizing that domains are something to be looking at. Thats what sets a brand off. I like to know that I own a piece in that pie. I also believe the crappiest domains will soon be worth something.

I don't think down-right crappy domains will be worth something (AKA: ThisIsTheBestGamingSiteOnline.bz)... but I do believe domains will continue to appreciate.

I have a couple theories about domaining in the future but I'm keeping a majority of the information to myself for investment reasons. Things are working out, so when I truly finish, it'll be a HUGE (huge) blog post.
