How old is the site? The last major update was in January and you will not see another one for a couple of months. there was a little shift but now much the last couple of weeks. You won't see any PR on new sites till a major update.

Nobody can give you an amount you need, it is based on several factors such as how much PR the site you linked from and other factors. Do not focus on PR, work on back links that will bring you traffic for that is what is important.

Thanks alot. So basicly, there's not a certain amount you need, it's based on other factors too?

Yes. A few relavant high PR links can easily give you PR3, whille 100 PR0 might not give you PR1.

Depends on pr of site your link is on and how many links they have on that page. Just work on getting links from sites that are related topics and you will be fine.

I have a site that is a few months old and has over 1000 backlinks. However it is still PR0. I'm sure at the next major PR update my site will have a higher PR. Waiting is the key, you'll get the PR eventually. Just keep working on the backlinks and content in the meantime.

Generally to get pagerank you need to have links on pages that already have pagerank. Quite frankly though the whole system is over valued, I've had PR0 sites beat out PR3 and PR4 sites. I've also had sites that have had links from just one site take on a PR3, and seen another PR6 drop to a PR4.

My personal strategy is just to build a sheer number of links with quality anchor text. At the very least a higher link count may scare competitors ;)
