I've not heard that. But if they do, they will not be able to use the term PageRank, which Google has legally got locked up.

They might come up with some new terminology instead of the word PageRank.

I've never heard anything like that, although I hope they do because it will make them enunciate more clearly what factors go into the ranking scale. I'm having a terrible time ranking my site well in MSN search results.

Who cares? Frankly, they already have a "ranking" algorithem; it's just not publically exposed. The only people who care about PR are sleazy SEO consultants and uninformed website owners.

PR doesn't matter. Where your site shows up in the search results for relevant keywords does.

Please explain why something to which Google allocates people, time, and money "doesn't matter". It seems like it matters to Google. I would be interested in hearing actual facts why "PR doesn't matter", not just repeating the conventional wisdom.

Jim is right, I believe people to be incorrect when they say that pr doesn't matter. Google is the leader of internet searching as well as many other things, and to say that what they consider to be important is [word goes here].

They can use 'LiveRank' instead of PageRank.

Live.com webmaster tools allow you to add site map, monitor your website "pagerank" and links to you.
I dont see any use of rank values there, I have few domains with rank 5 of 5 on most pages but nothing impressive in term of search positions.

Will wait and see how they are going to develop this.
