To Shawn: My wish list on DP Forums

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by corinaw, Mar 4, 2006.

    Forum suggestions: My wish list:

    1. Ability to modify the text input box (width/ height) for replies. I have a very large (wide) monitor and the reply box is too small for my (verbose) communication style.
    2. Spell check reply text.

BTW, I’d also subscribe to a DP financial supporter’s only forum, if you were so inclined. Not sure how you feel about that, but I’ve learned SO much thanks to DP, if there was a mechanism in place to help with keeping the site going, (such as WMW has) I would sign up.

If I’m acting like a newby and just did not notice how to accomplish these items I mentioned above, I apologize. I was all over the cp looking earlier today.

You can expand the reply box vertically with the [IMG] button, but there isn't a way to do it horizontally.

I also have a big screen (30" @ 2560x1600 to be exact) and it annoys me a bit too... but vBulletin doesn't have a way to set the size per user (only per style), so...

For spell checking, it's really something better handled on the client-side... there are plenty of plug-ins toolbars that you can get that functionality with depending on your browser.

There will not be a "paid only" section of the forum. :)

You're also missing the formatting buttons. Go to settings and change the reply format to "standard plus" or something from "stripped down to total loss of functionality" amd perhaps it will re-appear...

    Note to Colleen:

Stop highjacking every naked Mella thread and turning it into a Kalina online-dating-and-hot-chatting-forum

I already told him that but you split the thread at the wrong place... he's also missing all the editing buttons from his quick reply.

    PLEASE :)

Is it really that hard? I use ff but do not use the google toolbar as I read that google collects personal search data and I just don't want to go there with them. I want to be incognito (I'm whitehat) but it just bugs me knowing that they could totally profile me more than the FBI with all the data I give them.

So what extension do you recommend for ff. Below is the tool I identified that came up in ff for "spell".

    AspellFox
Adds Aspell spell checking to the context menu. Left click in any text box and select AspellFox from the context menu. You can also select text in a text box and run aspellfox on the selected text. You need to have Aspell, a Aspell dictionary and
