Right on for apologizing JV! I appreciate when I see men, be men and admit to their faults.

Maybe you will all call me scum, and bash me over and over but I "steal" peoples and images / landing pages / styles all the time. I use them for testing, if they convert better than my own I create my own similar image /landing page/ style.

I'm not sure its a dirty trick as much as it is getting insight into your competition and how things convert. Since your competition isn't going to tell you how well their page converts you have to find out for yourself.

/me ducks the shoes that will surely start flying at me...

 

Man this is really getting competitive... anyway you shouldn't be crying because everyone does that somehow

 

just shows you even at times affiliates get lazy and slip up.. not saying its right but it does happen. luckily few peopel i caugh copying me couldn't stand the heat and there site was gone within a day or so.

 

Also just an FYI this thread is about 450+ days old now for those of you replying in 2009. ^_^

If you steal, you have no right to privacy (of your crime).

 

I would assume most people use other people's references to build their landing pages. Of course, to flat out steal someone's stuff ain't cool but in some ways offers a glimpse into how quickly JV sets up landing pages to test...as opposed to me who might take a week "tweaking things just right"

I think I learned 2 things from this old thread, don't steal and get those landers out and test them asap! Weird how you pick up on things lol

 

This happens much more than most talk about.

The good thing is I never heard of GTAce and Volknet.

it looks to me that these two guys are self promoting each other by making a fuss of some bullshit.. bad PR is still a PR indeed...

It's actually not one of my big volume offers... I'm just getting into the market hence the testing around. The funny part is I had made my own page but for whatever reason decided to try and see if there was some sort of difference. I'm not quite sure even why I did that but I suppose we all make stupid mistakes at one point or another.

 

This is funny but don't feel that bad if took the time to bite it then it must be that good of a method.

 

This guy sucks. He runs a shitty blog that has a "comments" box, and he monitors and quickly deletes any commens that are anything other than completely fawning over him. If you make anything resembling a critical comment, he immediately deletes your comment.
