Starting to look for new hosting

I have a couple sites right now on a couple different shared servers. One is Windows and one is Linux. The site that is on the Windows server is outgrowing the shared server. I am not sure what I need - probably a VPS but it is the specs I am not sure about. The asp.net site is going to be heavy on the database side - about a gig. I was kind of hoping the server would also have php on it or at least be able to be installed. I would like to combine the two servers if I could. There would be a total of about six sites with maybe a couple more to come and I would like them all to be very fast.

Any incite would be greatly appreciate. I will be choosing one hopefully very soon - I really hate my on hosting company
