    Hey!

I have visited many popular sites with great PR and then did a backlink check for each one. So far, the results are conclusive. The more backlinks you have the better your PR. That's not to say you can have any old backlinks. I have found they must be at the most 2 clicks away from the main page. The further the clicks away the less it is ranked.

I base this on my own research and findings.:D

Forgive me for any spelling or grammatical errors. I have had a few Starapravens's tonight after some good pizza.

It is not the "more backlinks you have the better the PR." It is the more HIGH PR Backlinks you have, the higher the PR. I've got a PR 6 site that has 34 backlinks. Compare that to some PR3's with 40,000 bl's. If there is no PR to pass, there is no PR to get. I like the less is more concept when it comes to bl's.

No, I do not trust the prediction tools. However, the McDar Datacenter Q- Check Tool will give you the current, public PR from various datacenters. There is no substitute.

And I still have yet to see the new PR on my Google toolbar. However, I know that many see the PR6 that McDar shows for my site on many d/c's.

Hey! Don't forget I base this on my own research and findings. If I have done no research I wouldn't find anything. Therefore, simply put I base this on nothing. I am just a mere sponge in the sea of SEO. I soak things up whether they are good or bad things!

Also, I can only go on what I have done personally with my and my clients sites. This forum most certainly helps me on many levels. So, please forgive my ignorance if it seems I am ignorant. It's probably due to my using of less than 10% of my brain matter.

PR drives me crazy. On one site, G tool bar shows 5, Keyword and Back Link Tracker shows 0. Whom should I trust?

I am finally starting to see some positive changes to my sites. Maybe my sites were one of the last batches for the googlebot to crawl? Mind you, the changes are pretty weird. One site has a PR0 main page whilst it has several PR3 sub pages.

Almost time to crack open a nice bottle of Cab Sav and forget SEO management for a while (I am getting a bit of sore neck and shoulders from repetitive key strokes!!!!).:(

Hmmm. Me thinks someone's a bit too serious! Might have had the old humerous bone removal surgery recently. To think that a Ninja Turtle could be taken seriously is beyond even me!

Then again it always best to remain:

This has to be the oddest update ever. I have never seen a PR update take more than 72 hours before this one. Perhaps it has something to do with the infrastructure changes and things still progressing on that front.

You must not have seen the Jagger update, then. It never really finished. In fact, it seems like this might be just a continuation.

Jagger was a 3 step process. Each step finished approximately when everyone thought it would, except the third stage which actually took about 4 days (give or take a few) longer than expected.

Jagger was also an algo update, not an IBL/PR update which generally lasts 48-72 hours max.
