My bit of a success story in online business as a young student

Just recently, I sold an article directory website project that I had been working on from the ground up for just less than two years. Over the course of these two years, I made several thousand dollars ($7500+) off of it while a senior in high school and my first part of college. I was a total newbie going into this, but it ended up being a fair amount of success (at least what I would consider).

Feel free to check out my write up on the experience: http://www.articleink.com/internet/...-made-$7500+-online-in-less-than-2-years.html

I wanted to share my honest, no-hype, no-BS story of my experience in hope that maybe someone else could benefit off of it. I don't feel like I really have a lot of credibility to give you advice on how to make your dreams come true. I know I can just tell you my experience in hope that it might be beneficial for you in some way.

    Peace!

    Great share.

There are a lot of young students who are also make a very decent amount of money online. It is a good market to jump into.

Good article. If you could go back and do one thing different, what might it be?

hah! Yeah, I've been dreading that. :(

Awesome. Good luck to you. It was so nice to take the small chunk of change I made to pay off a student loan. Real good feeling!

As I look back, one thing that I would definitely do differently would be to remain consistent in building the site up. I talked about in my article about the importance of dedication, and it was through this experience that I learned that when the site was doing really well, it was because I had been dedicating time and energy to working on it. When it went stagnant, it was usually the result of my lack of time devoted to it. There were some months where I didn't do a thing to the site. It still made me a couple hundred bucks for the month, but it definitely didn't grow when I slacked.

Last summer, I did some real intensive investing into the site... time and some money. I bought some quality links and continued to work on building up backlinks. I did this intensively for about 2 weeks straight all hours of the day, and then shortly after traffic exploded from search engines. It ended up giving me as much as $90/day on Adsense! The only thing I didn't know how to do was to maintain that. It seemed really peculiar that traffic would explode for 2 weeks and then go back down. As I look back, again, I think that was largely due to my lack of investment.

I've also really realized that it's so important to be patient. There is no such thing as getting rich quick online from what I understand. Perhaps there is, but if there is, you can betcha it will take a lot of work.

So I guess my thoughts are now... be consistent in investing time and money in the right things, and in that, be patient, and the pay off will be rewarding.

I'm glad that this could be a boost of motivation for some of you. :D
