Hello , recently I've sell a domain to a person who have contacted with me thru whois info . He paid me via paypal's echeck and I pushed the domain . I wonder can he request back the funds ? Thanks
He could file a dispute with PayPal. Being a digital item, it's 50/50 on who would win the dispute if such an incident were to occur.
He can file a dispute with his bank/CC company, and 99% of times paypal will reverse the money to his account.
yes echecks are also can be reversed.... but for a limited period of time... something from 90 to 180 days... but i am not sure how many days.. i think 90 days period... and also in future dont accept echecks because most of the time they dont clear....echecks are dirty...
You must be doing purchase with the wrong people. eChecks aren't "dirty" and they're basically the same as a normal check. They are directly funded from the persons bank account and the only way that they won't clear, is if the sender has insufficient funds. I've paid with them before and others have paid me with them and there has never been a problem.
E-Checks Are Pretty Safe and as hav0c right said, they are not cleared only due to insufficient balance.
What is important is not to do anything until the echeck is cleared. I believe that echecks are not reversible per se which means that if the money is there in the account, it would inevitable can transfered from the buyer's paypal account and thereby pays into your account. However, like any paypal transaction, the buyer has the right to raise a dispute where both you and the customer can work out a resolution and failing which, paypal will decide. Like checks, echecks are not reversible like credit card chargeback. It thus means that the seller has a fighting chance to keep the money if a dispute is raise if you can convince paypal that you are in the right.
can US personal check after being deposited into my bank account, can it be charged back? i was thinkg of offering personal check payment. I also dont understand why most require a certified check or cashier check etc...
just received a payment from my customer through my website that was an e-check from paypal at first was a bit afraid of that , as it extremely seemed fishy to me but nice to search on DP for this now i see its safe but well ill get the payment after 4 days thats the not good point there anyways here is the question how to prevent customers paying by e-check , using our paypal payment buttons
i received, cleared the echeck, and after few weeks, it's gone, is it dirty? it's an easy method for fraud buyer, they buy, then go to their bank to charge it back.
