Need help regarding making my forum popular.

Hello guys. This is my first online venture and i have made a forum for content writers. It features a marketplace among other things. But now i face a daunting task of getting members for my forum. I planned to use forum posters but since its main feature is a marketplace i feel doubtful if forum posters can help in that topic.

So can you tell me how can i gain members for my forum???

    Thanks

Besides paid posters, all I can say is lots of advertising and referral bonuses of some sort.

I just started a forum myself for a month now.

First thing is your forum has 0 posts at the moment. You should at least post something yourself, daily. Nobody like to join an empty forum.

Don't spend too much money on marketing. Try doing it yourself. Otherwise you gonna end up loosing lot of money.

Be patient. It takes time to get the first site up.

Finally and most important have fun.

BTW: I have signed up, also posted the first post for you:)

try to get the forum filled with posts. if you have an empty forum no one will join at all! don't do paid advertising for forum until you have a decent amount of posts and members as you'll have a low return. forums take awhile to build but once you get it rolling it should get alot easier through some advertisements. I myself just started a forum a month ago http://forum.valuedaffiliates.com and just made some contests giving away $200 dollars in Amazon gift certificates to be given away to random members of the forum, so you can do contests similar to that so there is an incentive for people to join your forum.

Start a content where the first person to 250 posts wins $50!

I bet you can get a bunch of people that way!

For this topic, I strongly suggest not to rely on paid posters... your content is quite serious so you need real posters..
