Hi guys, I just got a prompt to "accept Google Adsense ToS" when I logged in to Adsense... I've been with them for a few years now so I don't know why they'd ask this. Has something major changed on their policy that I should know about? Instead of reading their 10,000-word ToS, could somebody give me a run-down or is it... just a scare? Thanks
There is a performance clause now, but did anyone tried not accepting the TOS? What will Adsense do if you do not accept the TOS?
Na nothing scary.. just accept it and move on.. Read this: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2008/02/updated-terms-and-conditions.html
no, the "new" clause for performance has been there for a very long time, it just hasnt been enforced at all. Half the other posts on this forum about this will mention this fact, and if you browse them, you'll realize that they all tell you in the end that its an old clause.
There are some changes that will affect you - you now need a privacy policy about cookies from AdSense. Check out this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=730420
I think some of the policies are meant to protect Adsense in the case of any class actions on privacy issues etc. But the more TOS there is, the more complicated it is for the typical publisher to follow.
Yeah it's the changes in their TOS, so they are alerting us by that message to follow their new TOS also.
To be honest on seeing it after logging into the account got freaked out that I might have violated someting but later i came to know it was with everyone not me. That very moment was like a shock to me.
You might want to visit this link (official info) https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=81794&ctx=sibling It seems they have made changes in few terms anticipating future products thay may be available in other ad formats. It also requires publishers to have a privacy policy which should state about cookie management.
