<rant> This is starting to get to me. I am making positive contributions, trying to stay light hearted and helpful, trying to make buddies on this forum, and people keep nailing me with bad rep for dumb reasons. The worst part is, they don't even put their name they just hit me. I got bad rep for my intro post- because I was "posting junk" I got bad rep for talking about my crappy MSN rep (I mentioned we are a large account and joked with adcenter411 telling him I wanted a free shirt) - I got nailed with bad rep saying this "A million dollar account begging for shirts, yeah right" I got nailed with bad rep on a random post about SEO strategies from somebody who followed me from another thread about the student loan budget cuts - this guy was just swearing at me because he didn't agree with me (I am in the student loan industry and he was telling me I had no idea what I was talking about). My last one somebody just called me a spammer for this post - I can see the gray area here, but if I am not a spammer, I've been a member here for 2 years and never had a problem, I figured people would get the humor. What's the deal? How do people even get a good rep around here? I am just being a normal forum user and I am getting nailed by random people for pretty much no reason. </rant> ok sorry about that, I just had to get it out. Thanks
Unwritten rule number one: Doh, it's unwritten so I'm not going to write it. But it has to do with never moaning about rep since it's a surefire way to get loads more of that what you were complaining about. Good luck! Bombs awayyyyyyyyyyyy!
dude, get over it. A day will come and you'll start getting greens one after another... .. Or you can scrape wikipedia, like minstrel does
grrreat. Are there any unwritten rules about begging not to be bombed anymore? Shit, I have good intentions. I don't deserve to be ganged up on by negative people for no reason.
Two years, only 55 posts and you don't grok the Rep system and it's labyrinthine unwritten rules? My advice? Ignore it. Don't post in this thread again, or even look at it lest ye be tempted. Go back to posting normally. If you really care about rep (and frankly you shouldn't) stay out of the chat and political/religious forums. Good Luck.
My advice: Please please do not complain about reps, that will only only increase your chnaces of getting more reps (RED). Think positively and learn from your own experience.
Communicating what one is feeling bad about has a major therapeutic effect and makes one feel better. That's why small kids run to mother and tell them how they hurt themself. I won't go into the exact mechanics of this and what happens in the mind, it's not necessary here. Just giving you some info.
lol @ JW (even if you did compare me to a little kid running to mommy) In retrospect, this post was good intention, bad execution. If I could delete a thread, I'd delete this one. And thanks for the votes of confidence I got from some of the good peoples. For the ones who are swearing at me, I'm telling my mommy.
ah yes...now i remember, you said that! sorry i knew someone said it but i forgot who so i just enclosed it in quotes
It's official Arizona Web Design you've been fried! fried = getting hit with the "aw jeez, not this shit again" by fryman.
haha, yeah, he also has another one he posts in adsense banned threads, so how would you call that one.?
very true... i tried to complaint about same in recent past, was aware about person (a guess) who put negative remarks to some of my comments. but.... should not be considered
you know you should have used bb codes, it should be [rant] and [/rant] html code is disabled here.. so your post doesn't count as rant
