    whew thats some heaving lifting power they have behind them.

    No wonder they are constantly releasing new things. The just have so much financial backing its not funny.

    They really could monopolize the market even more if they wanted to. Lucky they dont mind competition :)

    I think you're forgetting about Microsoft, who also has an interest in search, and is worth about $277 Billion, over 2.5x as much as Google. They have a much more diversified revenue stream, and more cash than God.

    MSFT could invest $1 billion a month in search technology if they thought it would be worth the investment. Their technology is lagging now, but I expect to see impressive results within a few years.

    You can buy the whole company (shareholders permitting). It is valued at share price so buy 51% of shares and you will be the major shareholder.
