I think you're forgetting about Microsoft, who also has an interest in search, and is worth about $277 Billion, over 2.5x as much as Google. They have a much more diversified revenue stream, and more cash than God. MSFT could invest $1 billion a month in search technology if they thought it would be worth the investment. Their technology is lagging now, but I expect to see impressive results within a few years.

You can buy the whole company (shareholders permitting). It is valued at share price so buy 51% of shares and you will be the major shareholder.
