Hi guys! I wonder what's a real difference between PR and TBPR? There are some things I can't understand...Thanx in advance...
PageRank = Factual number updated daily for Google Employees only! ToolBar PageRank (TBPR) is a fantasy number updated once a quarter to give webmasters and SEOs without a clue a warm fuzzy feeling. ToolBar PR is exported to the Google Toolbar which if you haven't downloaded you might want to. Some people value PR so they can sell links.. My banker could careless about PR and I would have to say I agree with him.
The PR doesn't have a "real" meaning as it changes all the time depending on what tweak has been done to the ranking algorithms at any given time. I have a few static pages that over the last two years have had Google PR from naught to 3 and everywhere in between without there having been ANY changes made to the pages at all. However, many of the worshipers of the Great God Google (3G) require a benchmark from their divinity to give them their status in the heirachy of the W3. "Sem-Advance" has hit the nail on the head and I can only agree with him on that. PR is good to have so you can deal with the postulates but having a good website that makes you money is the real mark of success.
http://www.usedmotorcycleauction.com/ PR1 Yesterday Spent $10.58 Earned $33.86 ================== Profit $23.28 220% I do care about PR in the sense it is needed somewhat to enable to have a site rank well in Google. But I prefer to look at various ways to earn revenue streams from other sources, than a free ride on the coat tail of a search engine, that could care less if my business exists or not. Peace!
