So, it looks like Microsoft is giving in to BluRay. I'd say this is a huge loss for those still supporting HD DVD.

Microsoft kills off HD DVD drive for Xbox 360

i guess since big film companies such as Disney chose the blu-ray format for there dvds that was the final nail in the coffin for hd-dvd

    I'm glad I got a PS3 and not a Xbox 360.

Seems like Microsoft is doing everything wrong.

Hm, while i don't see the reason not to trust Blu-ray, all the data storages made by sony before were not successful.

Blue-ray seems to be the right choice for Microsoft, one of the main reasons I think is that it can hold more information than hd-dvd

Regions arn't such a problem, just unlock them to play all! I would assume you could get the codes of the internet shortly if not now.

I read though that HD-DVD had been made into triple layers so infact a HD disk could hold more. Although. As it stands now. Not many people use that much space now. Infact i dont think anyone would.

anyways HDDVD is over. so no use. probably they could do the same for blueray so we have lots of empty space lol

Computer magazine. i think only if you live in New Zealand or Australia you would get it. I think it was PC powerplay. I dont get it that often. So it was either last months or a while back i bought one.

EDIT: Found last months its not in there. So it must be like i dunno quite a while back. It was a huge comparison chart and of what movie thingies were supporting and stuff. So im 100% sure it was real. Im pretty sure it was PC power play i usually dont buy anything else. Maybe PC world. But then again. Unless you live in NZ or Australia you prob wont get it. But it is a reliable source

HDDVD triple layer would hold more than a Blu-ray single layer yes.

Untill you put the triple layer Blu-ray into play :) But i think the rule goes 'The more layers, the less reliable' I know when Dual-Layer DVD's came onto the market they had a high fail rate.

The truth is that the one who have bought something with HD-DVD's format, they have thrown them money to the garbage.
