    I Hope U R Not Doing This !!!!!

IIf theres any truth to this,it's still worth a minute of ur life..

Please Read Immediately Do not charge ur cell phone the whole nite nd dun keep
it near u while charging IMPORTANT!!!

Never ever answer a cell phone while it is being RECHARGED!! A few days ago ,
a person was recharging his cell phone at home . Just at that time , a call came in
nd he answered it with the instrument still connected to the outlet .

After a few seconds, electricity flowed into the cell phone unrestrained nd young
man was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud . His parents rushed to the room
only to find him unconscious , with a weak heartbeat nd burnt fingers . He was rushed to
the nearby hospital , but was pronounced dead on arrival . Cell phones r a very useful modern invention .
However , we must be aware tht it can also b an instrument of DEATH!! . Never use the cell phone
while it is hooked to the electrical outlet !!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the rarity happened. Lightning struck and traveled through the outlet. That is why during thunderstorms they tell you to stay out of the shower and not use a land line telephone or anything plugged into an electrical outlet. If that phone charger had been plugged into a surge protector however it wouldn't have been a problem.

The more I look at it there is absolutely no way 120V will do that. A battery blowing up yes but that has nothing to do with the electrical outlet and using the phone. I use my phone plugged up a lot and no problems. I did some electrical work for a bit and I have been shocked buy 120V on more then one occasion and I ain't dead or burnt and I'm talking live wire not something plugged in.

That was either lightning or a battery that blew up.

There is truth to it. It has happened several times with Nokia phones containing the BL-5C battery. The phone in you pictures above is a Nokia model. Nokia has issued a recall for BL-5C batteries made by Chinese electronics company Matsushita between Dec 2005 and Nov 2006. Some 46 million units are affected.

I just looked closer at the picture and those look like acid burns on his hands. I'd say the battery in that phone blew.

Affirmative, although lithium ion batteries do not contain acid.

Lithium is worse then acid. Either way the concession is a battery exploded with nasty results.

    Hi

Do you know if the Nokia BL 5B is affected? This is the one I'm using.

I sometimes use my mobile plugged in to the mains but we are on 240V not 120 since its the UK.

I think I'm alright as we have surge protection and RCD to cover all the mains sockets.
