Best way to attract people to my forum

Hi, I'm running a forum (in my sig). I would like to know what are the effective moethods of marketing at the lowest cost.

Also, what would a banner be like based on what you see of my forum?

You can hire Forums posters to increse your threads and posts count.

Try writing press releases and of course posting to all the forums. Writing articles might work also.

This is perhaps the most cost efficient method Try to approach and advertise in most forums' marketplace and see how it works. An effective but expensive method is to hold contests.

 

Other than blogs, I am sure you are aware of possible link exchanges as well. You could also use some articles related to teen issues from places like ezine articles or what not, be sure to leave a link back to ezine article and give credit to the author.

I see that you have a movie section. There are places that give free movie screenings. If you provide the link, there will be plenty of discussions. I believe its filmmetro.com. Also do a myspace search for music. Find any new indie band sites and discuss. On fatwallet.com there are always links in the freebie section to free music downloads/mp3 files.

Just some things that might be a simple promo to attract teens to your forum.

Start getting some threads and posts! No kid is going to bother asking a question on a deserted forum. I also think there's a script that has simulated posting that you may want to look into.
