I think you might be able to get in touch by PM over at directory owners, but just a word on your plans to boost traffic to sell the site, Im not sure what niche your looking at, but one directory rarely increases traffic immediately and with such levels as to increase a sale valuation. I know aviva is a strong directory, but I think you might be overestimating the total traffic your going to get? (ps. going by your OP its 7 days now, but Im sure there is a good reason why you havent had an answer, so dont jump to the conclusion that he hasnt read it etc. there are a million things that can go wrong)
The directory will hopefully bump us up in the Google rankings for "Naruto Pictures", which will hopefully double our traffic to around 400 visits per day, that's not really a lot. Still haven't had a reply, I don't really want to go and look for the owner
I think with their recent penalty from Google, they will now be more cautious of what they add to their directory and how they add it. Hope it works out for you in the end.
You said "The directory", not "directories". Its not my fault if you can't write properly Heres a tip for you, forget wasting money on directories and do some real seo work and you might see that rise in traffic that you want.
Link building certainly is a vital method of seo. Though directories are not quality links. They are simply made to game search engines. Far better to concentrate on getting relevant backlinks. I know you wont agree with this, thats to be expected since you own a directory.
Linkbuilding is the only longterm approach to driving traffic to a site. If you have money to burn some directory links will improve your link profile.
If you are spending money, I would say you get far more bang for your buck by spending it on in-content, relevant links than directory submissions.
thank god that got sorted.... the topic was starting to get a bit out of control there... by the way, dont be overly surprised if this link doesnt add 200 uv's a day to your site, its just a backlink at the end of the day!
It's not the link, it's the fact that the link will move us up in the rankings, which obviously gives you more traffic.
My point was its one single link, its not going to do much to help you. At least its sorted now anyway.
If you're referring to crappy general directories them yes, you are right. Niche directories with good unique content are totally different.
Niche directories, if they only contain information about pets and pet supplies etc (for example) can add value. I'm curious, what seperates a crappy general directory, from the one in your sig? I would love for someone to explain to me what general directories add to the web. People certainly arent coming to them to find useful sites - they use google for that.
