"There is a "cost" of -1 reputation to you if you give negative rep." Ok so you get this when you give somebody a negative rep. But how come I did get that couple days ago when I did not give a neg rep to anybody?

 

You must have pressed the disapprove rather than approve then.

 

No. I did not give good rep aswell. I am 100% sure. Not 99.9%, but 100%

 

Maybe a user gave you a red rep with that comment.

Some time ago I received a PM from a member kindly asking me if I would give him a 'green rep' for the thread he started and I was among members who participated in it, his thread was informative and I gave him 'green rep' as he asked. Is it taken as negative if someone ask you to give him/her 'green rep' and you do?

 

Very informative I had no idea what the green boxes meant.

 

Yes that should be red.

UserCP, scroll down to "Latest Reputation Received" box. You won't see that box if you haven't received a reputation yet.

Yeah.....I should have read this thread before asking about an infraction. Someone must have gotten mad and given me neg rep because they were very nasty to me in the comment. Oh well, lesson learned....you can't make everyone happy all the time.
