    What are the best ways to improve page rank?
    Is it really important?

    I have dropped from 4 to 3. One of my competitors has risen from 3 to 4.

    Only if your mortgage broker and electricty company accept payment in high PR link exchanges. Otherwise, traffic is what is important, because people use money (which is the only thing my mortgage lender accepts).

    If you read my response to your other post (the one about SiteLinks), you'll have a good start on increasing your revenue. Since your business is geographically based, don't worry about PR at all. Instead, worry about getting your link on lots of local websites. Talk with mobile discos, caterers, florists, etc. and offer to exchange links with them. Look for travel agency and hotel websites and exchange links with them. If you have other big sources of customers, think about what they'll be searching for. For example, school reunions. When I think about my 20 year class reunion, my first thought is? Having a huge PR or lots of sitelinks is not important. Ranking highly for "Ferrari Hire" isn't even important. What is important is ranking highly for geographic terms like "Rotherham Ferarri" or "Chester Rental Cars" AND getting business in those areas you serve to help promote your services.

    Try reading some of the tutorials on this website, they may help you.

    You need to build backlinks,i would not advise buying links as google are starting to focus more on this.
