    Hey dp m8s,

Well i am thinking about starting up a small hosting project but as this will be my first time running a web hosting project and have more or less not such experience before i am looking for some tips and advice.
From your experience which web host would you recommend that can provide me with the best plans at the best prices with cpanel?

Any specific t.o.s that I should add?
Every advice that would help me with that project is welcomed  :D

i heard host gator is pretty good with reseller packages.

Soprano and SubmitShop i totally agree with you about the support mates.
As for what Soprano said about host gator i am thinking about their hosting plans but i am having second thoughts as i've seen some topics on Dp about host gators and problems that people having with them.

Anyone else that could give me some tips/ideas? :)

    Think really, really carefully.

Who will you sell to? People in your area - or anyone over the net?

How quickly will you respond to denial of service problems? to boot off spammers?
How good are your technical skills to diagnose and fix problems - or will you rely on the upstream support?

Read some of the threads here where it's all gone horribly wrong and work out what you would have done to not end up in the same mess.

Above of all! Never go with resellers who oversell! Some of the resellers will offer MASSIVE disk space and bandwidth @ dirt cheap rates but make sure they know the pros and cons of overselling!

You must decide what kind of crowd you are going to entertain! If you are going to entertain the group which is interested in buying 1GB disk space for $1 then be careful and if you are planning to sell quality then be concerned about the pricing you set and services you offer!

Good customer support is the key but that will come in action only when you start getting clients!

    Good luck!

sarahkh wrote well...i totally agree..we gotta agree...hosting is a very Very competetive field, you need to be providing good after sales support/back ups/ or else you wont be able to run anything..

and yeah many resellers are just wayy overselling their b/w, its much better to go with reputed ones rather than paying cheaper but new resellers...

Indeed.....don't go for resselllers or free hosts.....also not attract to lowest prices if you go for them, it may be costlier in log run with lots of trouble........
