well this is true if you can do seo yourself go ahead do it.But if you can exchange links and know how to change with changing search engines.Why seo compny charges Some points: 1)Keyword research (You can do)(needs knowledge though) 2)Content writing (Not every one can do) 3)Placing Your website in directories(Not every one can do) 4)Site submission in search engines (You can do) 5)Placing one way links (You can't do) 6)Takes responsibility for your websites performance. 7)Manages your websites ppc and all advertising fundas(some seo companies only) Ill effects Charges you more than thousands of dollars No care for websites, NO results
He tryes to point out that theres things that not evrybody can do to do SEO I agree that not evrybody should do seo + some don't have time to learn/do it and prefer to pay Demand is huge so no problem here
The truth is, this market is so new and there is so much ignorance in the field. I recently hired a client who had spent over $20,000 on SEO, and they had a 30 page website with every single Title tag being the company name, and about 300 incoming links. They fed them the same old line we all hear. It takes time to get out of the sandbox, etc. For all of the "expert seo companies" out there if you actually look at their client list, their clients are generally not doing very well. I've only seen a few people that I actually respect to do good SEO work.
Actually SEO is not just doing the meta and link building, it require a vast research work if you are working on very competitive theme. i experienced that people are thinking that seo is nothing, the person who working in SEO is just doing link building or meta tags writing but i m totally disagree with them. IF you are good in programming and doing SEO it will be more beneficial for you. as mark1230 point out in first sentence that people can do keyword research by own => i would like to say that people can do it but if seo expert will do the research on keyword than it will be more effective and worth a pay. Because there are many point which needs to be taken care while working on keyword research like - geographic and demographic market - KEI ( keyword effectiveness Index) and one main thing is, select those keyword which increase sale, as per my experience only traffic is not important. If your site having 10 sale from 100 visitors than it is batter than 50 sale from 1000 visitors. when a person who is not expert in this field, how can they do the best research without taking care of all the aspect of keyword research. Not only keyword research but all steps of SEO needs passion, good research and vast experience in SEO industry.
My seo recently got a super keyword ranked no 9 in google that was searched 3 to 5 million times a month!!! and he charged much less than that. If anyone is interested ill pass hi sportfolio by pm, then you will laugh at anyone spending 20k.
You always have to balance, Your money and your time. If you value your 20 hours/per month are more valuable than $500 than hire a SEO company. Ofcourse there will be issues like spending time in communication but than it is all on you. If you are that concerned about why some SEO companies charges so much money, I will highly advice you to outsource only partial work and you should make the decisions.
If you have the money to hire proffesionals...why not! If you dont just search over the net, buy some books and Learn SEO! thats what I think... yay
Time is also major factor, if a person having time to learn SEO than he would not pay to hire professional.
ya you need to find the correct keyword which relavent to your content and must be popular as well. There are lots of things dat cant be learned in a day.. it take lots of time to understand the working of search Engine world!! I m practicing SEO since 8 months
Thats just completely untrue. I run several sites selling products, and I would always rather have 50 sales from 1000 visitors than 10 sales from 100! Only an idiot would prefer to have less sales (even with the higher conversion rate).
You have misinterpret the sentence dear see to get 1000 visitors you need to target very competitive keywords and to get 100 visitors you can cover less competitive keywords. here i am explaining how.. If you have flower related site selling in LA than how can we decide the keyword. Here is some keywords example for that site - flower - buy flowers - flowers in Los Angeles - buy flower in Los Angeles Among those 4 keyword if we have to decide 2 keywords than I will go for 2nd and 4th because 1st and 3rd one will bring more traffic than 2nd and 4th but it will not relevant to targeted market. Because, it is not necessary that person searching for flower or flower in Los Angeles want to purchase the flower, but a person who is searching for buy flower or buy flower in Los Angeles is interested to purchase the flower. Now u can get rank for buy flower with less visitors than flower keyword but sell will be more. i think now you getting what i mean to say is.. regards
Exactly It does not depends on high you are ranked for a particular keyoword. It all boils down to whether you are getting sales or not from that keyword. So I think that was a nice example in the above post targeting users who are looking to buy, that have higher chances of sale.
thanks red virus, some time what happen is, we used to work a lot for some niche keyword and when we are on first page of search engine it send less visitors than our expectation. so keyword research is the base of SEO
