I used my RSS Feed to submit to google sitemap do I need to resubmit often or will it update by it self as my feeds update? if by myself how often should I update it?
I used my RSS Feed ? How do you do that... ? You just need to submit eithet your xml sitemap file or gzipped xml file through Google webmaster tools.....
We notice that if we have 10,000 pages in our sitemap.xml than after 2 months we would have 11,000 pages, but google search engine index pages result will not increase so what we do is create new sitemap.xml for 11,000 pages and resubmit to google webmaster tools. After few days we check that google search engine index report with more pages. (it means google would add more pages faster by updating sitemap to google webmaster tool once a month or once every two months) It is depend how many pages do you add in your site.
According to Google: "How often should I submit updated Sitemaps to Google? You should update and re-submit Sitemaps as often as the pages on your website change. For some agencies, this may be every day; for others, it may be every week or two. " We put our sitemap in for our sites about once per day including all of the new pages on that day. Our sites - FreshTravels.com - show that Google is looking at the file soon after we post it and let them know its there.
I have the habit of uploading the revised sitemap.xml to the google via the google webmaster tools as soon as I update the site contents. I find google immediately downloading the sitemap.xml after submission. This is done to stay fresh with updated contents and letting know the google about your status.
In general, there are two types of sitemaps. The first type of sitemap is a HTML page listing the pages of your site - often by section - and is meant to help users find the information they need. XML Sitemaps - usually called Sitemaps, with a capital S - are a way for you to give Google information about your site. This is the type of Sitemap we'll be discussing in this article. If you have a blog with an RSS................. For blogs... ok ... Thanks
i have started a blog but dont know what is rss and how to use it it might be disgusting but i am still confused what is feed and what is rss any url where to read in easy words? Many thanks
Well i am now, not thinking that one should always submit sitemap. Actually it;s not like that, i have website for which i have submited site map and takes time to up on listings. While for which site i have not submited, indexed shortly because of good back links towards to website.
one should really have a sitemap for his/her website and submited in Google webmaster tools, will give u good results and you can monitor the website too.
Google webmaster tools have so many fetures if u have sitemap, than you can find how many inbound links you have, crawling stats, top searched queries for your website. and many more
