.asia - will you bother registering?

Just curious if you plan on registering any .asia brand names you might already have (even if you don't have plans to put the domain to use right away)? Do you think it would be worth it or is it just hype?

I'm still undecided if I'm going to register any or not

I was thinking about it, not sure about it - went to register something at godaddy asked for some certificate number so I gave up.

I think in the landrush period almost everyname is going to end up in an auction. This will essentially eliminate any secondary market for .Asia names.

    I'm not opting for it.

I'm preregistering .asia domains, some names are relevant to my current sites . The amount is fully refundable so I don't lose anything.

Dnk just a query. Is the full amount refunded or will they charge some amount as application fees or auction fees?

Wishing all landrush applicants good luck,

Some sites have fully refunded fees (like godaddy).

I have put in 150+ domains in the landrush period, hoping to get some of them cheap in the auction.

I think I will give it a try only if I get the full refund in case someone else wins the auction for domain. I might get lucky and get the good domains after landrush is over. In past, I procrastinated :( and someone else registered BligBlog.com, fundster.com and other hot domains. I wouldn't make the same mistake again. I wish the best to all .ASIA domain seekers. ;)

The registrar I am using will refund the entire amount if I do not win the auction. Others are charging an application fee or will only credit your account, so you have to be careful and read the fine print.

I won't bother, registrars all over the world have been coming out with new extensions, I guess this is all aimed at webmasters pockets, I am not a domain speculator. Spending all the money chasing all those extensions arent worth it IMHO.

From what I understand Godaddy will refund the registration fee but not the application fee or somthing like that, I would double check on that!

There is no application fees charged by Godaddy. Its probably about the sunrise period where they had a $100 application fee. They should have stuck to the .mobi landrush model, auctioning all premium domains before they went live.

I'm planning to buy some .asia domains also but I'm holding on my pockets for awhile. I'll just cross the bridge when I'm there. ;)
