can someone please tell me 1/.am i better to have 200 pr2 links on my site or 10 pr4-6 links ? 2/.if i use links on each page rather than having them on 1 page titled links will i get a better ranking or will it be considered spam? 3/. do the search engines either reward or penalise links on other pages rather than your homepage sorry for this but i am trying to optimise my site and this is a part of seo i am still trying to get my head around thanks in advance for the answers
1. You better off getting one-way quality backlinks from sites related to yours, don't worry about Pagerank, worry about relevancy. 2. Unless it is a relevant quality link it shouldn't appear on any of your web pages to begin with, providing links sololy to boost your search engine rankings aren't the proper way to build backlinks. 3. Review the quality guidelines for each of the major search engines, should answer this question easily.
ssandecki is right.. and also make sure that the links that you are in is not a bad neighborhood.. those bad neighbors can cause your site to be banned or penalized by google.. but, you don't have to worry that much as long as you are not connected with the site your site will not be banned.. if you think that a site that links to you is a bad neighbor don't put their links on your site or don't comment on your site..
just get what you can lol i think you should work on your content.. remember mostly people use the interent for something whether its to find free games or for some cheats for a game.. Once you have content, the traffic will come
choosing the right anchor texts for your links and variations of it might improve your KW ranking.. it's one of the effective ways of optimizing KWs
What methods do you suggest for getting relevant backlinks? I know directory submissions, but that's not usually relevant. And if I contact other relevant sites, they usually want to trade links (less effective). The only way I can think of is getting media attention and having people organically backlink to you, but then again their blogs might not always be relevant either.
thank you for the answers they are very much appreciated one question regarding relevance of links i forgot to ask if i sell items in the uk are links for the same thing (i.e. people selling the same items but in the usa for example ) deemed to be relevant or does google take the country of origin into consideration as well regards luvvit
You should get back links to your site that are anchored with your keywords your best bet is writing an article and submitting it to article directories. That is a good way to get anchored back links
If you want to increase the website traffic Link building, writing articles and posting it into different article directories, forum posting and blog commenting , are useful to get traffic to your site.Best of Luck...
The quality of those links would be so low that they wouldn't even really be worth pursuing, and that's assuming they don't get flagged as spam to begin with.
