I use filezilla. It has the basics covered and only time I get errors is for mass transfers(3k+ file uploads) and then it only screws up like 5 or 6 files.

I've noticed quite a few people on DP appear to use Filezilla.

I personally use LeechFTP - hasn't been updated in ages but does everything one needs from a FTP program

    SftpDrive

Creates a "mapped" drive so I just drag & drop the files. I can also open files up locally in my text editor (ultraedit) and save the file directly on the mapped drive. Very nice, always reliable, and transmissions are encrypted :D

Primarily I use Dreamweaver's built in FTP, but whilst it's taking forever to transfer I always use a secondary FTP app and still use the old 1998 version Ipswitch's WS FTP Pro or Filezilla. I do like the look of sftpdrive though...

I also just use Dreamweaver's inbuilt ftp access. Seems to be fine for me, however I have nothing else to compare it with as I've never used anything else

Used to use flashfxp a while ago.

Now i use the FireFtp addon for firefox. Works fine for me. Even when uploading a few hundred files at a time.

FileZillas pretty good but lately its died on my comp, gets XML errors or something. But I also use Smart FTP. Both programs are great and I'd go with either of them if I were you. BTW: SmartFTP has tabs so you can open multiple servers at once ;)

I rarely use an external FTP app, although I have used CuteFTP before.

I general do one of two things. For files unrelated to a development project, I usually just map a network drive in Ubuntu and drag and drop to the folder.

Most of the stuff I upload is files that I've edited for a development project. In that case, I use the built-in FTP in Quanta Plus (similar to the built-in FTP for Dreamweaver). I like being able to upload within the IDE without having to switch to another app.

I can recommend WS_FTP if you want a commercial solution. CoreFTP is a good free alternative.
