How much money can some DP members make posting on forums?

Discussion in 'General Business' started by gemini181, Feb 19, 2008.

    I'm not seriously thinking of forum posting as a 'real job.'
    Please, tell me how much you (claim) to actually make per day with forum posting?

    Thanks

    Edit: I'm curious about the $0.10 per post deals, and how much people claim to make per day.

    Do you mean via revenue sharing?

    Anywhere between 0 and a few dollars per day.

    Thanks, for the quick answer.
    Actually, I'm curious about the $0.10 per post deals, and how much people claim to make per day. I'll update the OP to be more clear.

    You can make quite a bit if you spend time doing it and charge more than $.10 a post. I ran an offer last summer for $3.55 for 25 post and I was slammed with offers. Between my wife and I we made about $700 in a week with just a couple of hours a day.

    The downside is that if you are hired to write too many post, it gets boring and difficult because many of the forums have no other posters on them. I had one person who would pay me for 100 post and when I was done, he would keep hiring me for more. I finally had to decline because I just could not keep writing back and forth with just myself.

    The key to success is creating well written post and not just stupid response like "thanks for the information". Also use spell check and check for good grammar. I would also not jump on every cheap offer you can find because you build the rep as cheap and that is all you will get offered. $.15-$.25 per post is fair for you and the buyer. I would not go less unless it is a real easy topic. I would also ask for payment up front unless it is a member who has been around a while and has good rep and iTrader.

    It will never be a full time income but it helps over slow money times.

    Plus, you get 'established' at several forums, and one might get busy someday.

    I did this over last summer when I did not have school. I made around $250 for 2 months...not to bad. Of course I got paid way over 10 cents a post at some places.

    Oops, does seem pretty high (part-time doesn't seem right), but...
    ~1 post per minute = 60 per hour
    ~60 per hour x 10 to 12 hours (if you really like the Internet) = ~700 per day, for various clients.
    `````````
    I did say I'm not thinking of it as a 'real job', just extra money. :)
    If you post casually by my math I can see it making you about $7 a day, with a post every five minutes. I make that in an hour at my current part time job. I'd rather just do that.
    Oh, you mean here at DP? Instead of a monthly rate??
    Sounds good... :)
    ...since your overall post count is fairly low. DP sigs rarely get much monthly income until you have a large post count.
    Ya, just here on DP. Its actually a little more than that. I only make a few posts per day so I just calculated it out when this thread made me curious. I think thats more than PPP services will offer isn't it?
    Why did you say "DP sigs rarely get much monthly income until you have a large post count"? Because people will rarely buy from a new member, right?
    Hiring people for forum posting isn't always good. Especially for cheap, your just going to get a load of "lol" or "good idea" posts.
    For the sake of your money I hope you hired good people :p
    I know, quality is an issue.
    Yes, and more...
    If the person has 6,543 posts you literally end up with 6,543 back-links. Yahoo 'sees' and reports them, of coarse Goo.. does not.
    I have never really heard of making money from posting on forums. Does DP offer that, or what forums do offer that?
    The forum does not pay you, the forum owner pays you to add content to their site. It just happens to be in post format.
