    1. Submit your website to search engines.
The first step in getting your website to be seen is by submitting your site to multiple search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask and many other search engines. There are hundreds of search engines available to submit to although the top 3 are Google, Yahoo and MSN. Submitting your site to the search engine sites can be long and arduous so find some submission services that fit your needs. There are a lot of talk how submitting your site to search engines are a waste of time, but if it helps your website get crawled a week earlier, why not?

    2. Submit your website to Google’s Webmasters Tools.

You can get an explanation of this wonderful tool here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/about.html
Adding your website to Webmasters Tools will help you see potential problems with your site, along with many other useful information, such as the keywords that occur most frequently in your website or what kind of keywords visitors are typing to find your website.

    3. Seek forums that cater to your niche and join the forums.

Make sure you actively participate in conversations and yourself valuable to the members of the forum. Add your website URL in your signature to route people to your website. Take caution and do not spam the forums with junk comments that add no useful information. Spamming will make you will look ignorant and you up your chances of being banned.

    4. Get an account with StumbleUpon.com.

By signing up for a StumbleUpon (usually abbreviated as SU) you create a public profile to share websites that attract your eyes. Adding your website to this profile will help other SU users “stumble upon” your website. You can also view sites of other members and leave reviews and track back information so members of SU can refer back to your website.

    5. Create eye-catching signatures for all your outgoing email.
Include your information in all email messages. Using this technique will usually be more targeted and effective if you are answering questions and providing solutions of a particular topic you are trying to promote.

    6. Place the lens on your website.
Squidoo is a website dedicated for anyone to setup a page on a topic the he/she knows well. This is all provided free, so you can take advantage by signing up for your own page, and writing an article about what you know well. By adding your website links you will promote your website and attract visitors that are genuinely interested in what your offer. This is a great way to get targeted traffic. Your Squidoo lens (the webpage you create) will also be crawled by search engines, which will also help in attracting more traffic.

    7. Keep updating your website on a regular and consistent basis. Unfortunately, may internet marketers fail to do this and the website ends up static. Just like housekeeping, You have to keep you website as fresh as possible. Not only will your visitors come often to check out new content, the search engines will crawl through your site more often. One thing you’ll always hear is that search engines like quality and frequently updated websites and if the website is useful for the visitor, the search engine places higher value on your website.

    8. Submit your website to Directories.
Submit your website to directories such as Yahoo and DMOZ. There are thousands of free directories out on the Internet, so do a simple search and you’ll find many at your fingertips.

    9. Make sure your RSS feeds are operational.
RSS feeds are a type of notification system that your visitors subscribe to get the latest updates you make on your website. Having an RSS feed will notify your visitors when your site is updated and helps them keep abreast of any important news you publish. RSS feeds are also a great marketing tool to notify your subscribers of new products you may put up on your store. RSS feeds may seem intimidating because of the complex nature, but if you use blogging platforms such as WordPress (its free) RSS feeds are automatically broadcasted to all your subscribers.

    10. Keep Motivated!
Motivation will keep you working hard when the times get tough. The key is persistence and dedication to your work. Many greats have all echoed the same words. Thomas Edison, Colonel Sanders and MANY other successful people have failed numerous times, only to stand back up and grow stronger. Don’t see setbacks as ‘failures’ but instead, see them as a lesson learned and avoid making the same mistakes the next time you encounter them. Visit websites that have motivational quotes and be inspired, and allow yourself to absorb the energy of the quotes.

    Good luck!
