Problem with DP

I would say 3/10 times I visit the forum I expierience a weird error where I go on to a page on the forum, it will load (or sometimes half load), then it will just go to a 'Explorer cannot view this page' error. I know it isn't to do with IP blocking because I have a dynamic IP address and it has been happening for over a week now.

I didn't want to say something the first couple of times it happened incase it was just vBulletin taking care of an overload, but it happening more frequently by the day.

I think it is critical you get this fixed as newcomers might not want to join if something like this keeps happening when they visit the forum.

Where do you live? The problem is worse when the americans arive unfortunately. Im in the UK, and its fine early in the morning. Mid afternoon until midnight its bad as the americans come online and cause server load. I guess that makes it the busiest time internationally, although there are many asians here and we seem to have no problems early on in the day...

I'm having the same problem. It happens when I switch to my office connection. My home connection doesn't have that problem.

I think it may have something to do with DNS.

    I am in Asia.

Has there been any official feedback from a staff member of Shawn about what they are doing about this?

Well it is only bad for them when it comes to newcomers not signing up, and also for people who are already registered but getting fed up of it. I know this website (especially the forum) gets HUGE traffic, that's the only reason I am a bit more patient, but I also know how important first impression is upon expanding a business - meaning DP could be taking big losses upon expanding their userbase.

Exactly what I said. Its 10AM almost now, and DP runs fast. Its just peak time when it gets like this. You'll have to grin and bear it, servers arn't cheap and I'm sure shawn is working out a solution.

Well that isn't anyone elses problem that we should have to deal with the lag, but yes I am sure Shawn is sorting it out. He should run another server campaign, I'm sure he could collect a couple of dollars towards the costs.

exactly the same for me guys, guessing thats the forums peak hours.
Its very annoying and the only reason i dont give up on the forum is because its such a great forum, with a lot of people willing to help each other out. I hope the problem does not make people get fed up with the forum or not even register in the first place.

Come on guys, do something about it who ever is in charge, who i believe to be Shaun?!?

    Will.

Probably because the times when you come on to the forum i see you are from Australia so i am guessing you come on when the people in the UK like me are in bed and as well as the Americans wont be on too much. So traffic will be not as large then.

    Will.

nope because of timeout setting in their server is low.
this is to prevent from someone who have the internet connection too slow will not eat all the bandwidth.

    my 2.5 cents
