I don't know what or why it is, but, I am lucky enough to get very high on google within 1 or 2 days. No Joke! I think it is because: 1. at one time my site was very popular (before I neglected it) 2. it is now over 5 years old 3. I have a wordpress blog (Which I ping to many places each time it is updated. The advantage: If I post on a current story, it will show up quickly in google and people will come to my site. Sometimes, my blog is featured on AOL as one of the top blog posts of that subject. I am sorry that I can't post the site because I don't want any trouble with Google.... Here's my advice: 1. stick with 1 site and drive as much traffic to it as possible. 2. After a year or 2, your site will be taken more seriously by the search engines. (Or... you can buy a domain name that has been around and has been indexed in Google for years). 3. Have some sort of RSS feed (Blogging software normally has this). 4. Once your site gets regularly indexed by Google, you will get more traffic than you could ever imagine........... Quick story: There was a popular blogger who wrote a blog post on how he wanted to coin a new phrase. So, he sent his blog out to 1,000's of people. I decided to write a blog post stating how this popular blogger wanted to coin a new phrase and within one day, the coined phrase when typed into Google brought up my site first. I then, of course, wrote a story apologizing about stealing the person's coined phrase. (That story became top of Google)........ I felt so guilt I deleted both articles. But... it was fun to get higher in the search engines than the Gurus. Sorry for the long post..... I hope there was something you got out of it.
I too have noticed quick indexing in Google of my blog articles. A large percentage of my traffic comes from that, but it's only a few visitors a day. My domain and blog are only about 2 months old though.
Thanks for sharing. I thought Blogging was a thing of the past, you've motivated me to revisit blogging again.
Can i ask how many visitors you used to get ? And how many visitors you are getting now ? What is the blog url ? Thank
HugeForum The funny thing is I never really got a lot of visitors. Probably less than 10,000 a day. It was fun, though, watching my stats and seeing how many people came in from the strangest google keyword phrases. I used to come up second for "Make money online now" Anyway... like in every business, the longer you stay around and keep plugging the more credibility you get. It doesn't mean you'll get rich, but at least your voice will be heard (and sometimes even listened to)
Great stuff. I trust wordpress for SEO as well. If you write great keyword articles, and your blog has some form of authority it can get ranked on 1st page of Google within 10 minutes of publishing the post. Of course, it depends on other factors like competition and all...
