does forums nowadays make money? Is the forum market taken over completely? i have struggled a lot with forums and i just couldnt digest the failure of my forum which never got visitors nor made me good money!
ok , sounds good but ... make the forum , you are the admin and then ? how to promote the forum to have active users ?
Hey, it's a nice looking forum. I think it looks an awful lot like this forum, however. There isn't much distinction between the two, other than name and colour. Maybe you can find a way to make it more distinguishable?
Forums need a lot of traffic to make money. I own over 10 large (10,000+ members) forums which cover various micro-niches. In order to run a successful forum, you need to offer a unique experience for your visitors. If you have competition in your niche (which you do), you will need to have an awful lot of useful information in your forums, so that SEs can start indexing you up and you start getting a solid flow of traffic. As for monetizing, it's tough. I sell most of my ads privately as all CPM networks get pissed at the poor uniques-to-pageviews ratio that forums are notorious for. CPC networks could be useful if the ads are properly positioned for a better click-through rate, but sponsors and private ad sales are definitely the way to go with forums.
Your forum looks pretty new...and you're already calling it a failure? It hasn't even started up yet! Build traffic, and try to look for affiliate offers that you think your members would be into. I'm a 1st time webmaster with a brand new site & forum, and it ain't going too shabby for me.
its depend on the forum. if they have good traffic well they can earn more money just like digitalpoint.
forums are good if you have a lot of active users, because it easy to expand your website into other services/products since you already have a userbase.
As for getting traffic, check out these traffic tips. One gotta remember that in some ways, forums are just like any other websites. They need visitors, and they can generate income in several ways. - You can put google adsense (for example) - set up affiliate products (and banners) through clickbank or whatnot - sell direct ads - sell membership options. Plenty of ways to bring some $$$ to your pockets.
I run one forum for about 10 months. THe site gets a tremendous amount of traffic, but im basically the only one posting there. I don't put google adsense on my forum because I think affiliate links hidden strategically do better on forums, especially since almost NO ONE does that, most people put banner ads or adsense on their forums(even digitalpoint does), neither of which I do. If you do things different, then your more likely to get a visitors attention.
Your forum is very nice, but it just looks like another DP,you should make something unique and especial.
i am always hesitant to put adsense and analytics as i believe it always slows down the site. All this for very few dollars.
If you are looking to make money with a forum, don't expect things to come easily. You will likely need about 5x the traffic of a website to generate the same revenue with ads. However, users typically spend more time in forums than they do on websites... so there is a bit working in your favor.
your forum targets an industry that already is saturated with forums, and you also don't have alot of members. but yes there still is money in forums you just need the right niche or to get your forum popular.
