I use a script to pull posts from my forum to my homepage that displays a link to the forum and a snippet of the post.

The script uses the html code ? (which is html code for a ?)

Ex. of the the URL of the regular link to the thread of the forum.

    xxx.com/forum/xxx?

URL in the html code that the script uses for the link

    xxx.com/forum/xxx?

Would this be considered 2 different links and dup content to the Search Engines?

Thanks, this has been racking my brain.

No, just an snippet does not constitute duplicate content.:) Two links to the same content does, I would say the whole content would have to be the same for it to be duplicate.

    Thanks for the response

I was just told by the script developer that it isn't dup content because the SE's should be able to read the valid html code for the question mark in the url.

when there's a duplicate content site, what site would probably get banned? are those duplicate content sites both get banned, or just the newer one?
