Known Scammers -- Been Scammed? Post HERE!

    Hey Everyone
There are so many people posting "Scammed by " Threads, I think we should have a central thread, where people post if they have been scammed, information, and we can build a central list of scammers, making it easy.
In essence, post here and then I will do an updated list of scammers as a new post every few days or so.
It's probably the best way, and it means that newbie buyers and sellers can check things out in advance :)

    Some advice regarding scammers:
    1. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
    2. Anything over $70, don't use Paypal. They don't help.
    3. Red rep = Dont sell / buy to/from the person.

    Advice For Safe Transactions
    1. Accept payment with Moneybookers or Escrow as much as possible for higher value domains, Moneybookers doesn't allow chargebacks.
    2. Check the recent feedback for buyers, its becoming more and more common for old accounts with reputation to be used for scamming, so look for recent feedback (last few months) and be wary if they have none for more than 6 months. However, they may still be legit buyers, but be wary anyhow.
    3. If you are forced to use Paypal, go for balance to balance transactions, and ask them to open and close a dispute before you transfer domains, especially with Godaddy. It makes it almost impossible to chargeback if both conditions are met, as far as I know.
    4. Before selling to someone, do a DP search of their username and see if they have been reported anywhere of scamming before
I'll post any more if I can think of them :)

Domain buyers and sellers buy and sell here, not in the general section, so they should be more likely to see something posted here.
    Thats my reasoning, anyhow :p

Nice idea to start the thread. Add some more guides on how to do safe transactions and all.. I hope that the thread will be sticky after more information has been added.

Ok, I've added some advice and suchlike for safe transactions, and if i can think of any more, I'll add that too. I guess I can ask a mod to modify bits into my post once my own edit time has expired :p
It's for a good cause, anyhow.
If anyone can suggest any anti-scam advice, let me know :)

i don't think you know the right way on how to play your role in a forum. remember, even this is a general issue, but the thread starter just want to be detail and I appreciate gpearce because he really want to help others people for not to get scam.

this is just a good topic for this domain thread.
congrats guys and put more info about this.

Be aware scammers don't always use their own accounts. I know of several scammers using hijacked trustworthy accounts with good itrader scores. I have seen several phishing attempts where people try to steal your DP-/NP-/DNF-password. Almost always those phishing attempts start with an unsollicited PM containing a link with a fake login page. Be careful, use moneybookers and/or Escrow to be safe(r)!

agree! my account on NP was hacked and only thanks to mods was not used to cheat people there...

I´m afraid, that the only way how to treat with scammers is to be cautious enough when you´re doing your business...

Yep, while I am all for naming and shaming, it should really be done in a controlled environment. Also this thread should be in the general discussion area.... there are a number of active threads there.

Regular members should just keep an eye on active buyers/vendors and post warning links WHERE APPROPRIATE AND BACKED UP BY AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF EVIDENCE.

For Example, if anyone sees the username Felics buying a domain, they should draw the vendors attention to the thread: Felics is a Scammer - however this should be done in as mature a way and as sparingly as possible, on the basis that our forum will soon become nothing more than a series of flame posts and that is NOT what we are all about here!

Also, there is now a sticky with some guidelines that you can find here:
