[quoyte=roman1]PageRank continues to provide the basis for all of our web search tools. I think that implies quite some weight. [/quote]
Take out the word "quite" and you'll probably get no argument.

That's an old page you've quoted, however, and you need to read some of the other more recent comments from Google insiders like Matt Cutts - you might also want to read some of the patents that Google has submitted in recent years (do NOT assume everything in a patent application is being used currently or ever will be but it will give you some idea of where Google's thinking is taking them as they try to get beyond the problems of a simplistic PR based ranking system.

Its very open to interpretation ... I personally don't buy it because as Matt Cutts puts it ...

You don't need to wait for a PR update to have your allocated PR and also

So what that tells me is that there are bigger things to SERPs than PR which is what I have been saying!

Well, the "PR update" doesn't help me with anything except link exchanges.. as for search results, live PR comes in play

I would expect the PR update to help in link exchanges. Whenever someone looks at a PR 0, are you really going to want to link with them?

    Yes. Of course.

If it looks like a promising site, then there's no reason not to. You've got to think ahead and think how the search engines will see the link.

Speaking of seeing the link, you should work out if humans ever will!

And also, an "in content" link on a PR0 site far out-weighs a PR5 link hidden away on page 19 of a someone's link-exchange pages.

If you know what you're doing, you won't base a decision like this on posted PR.

Actually, I was into programming and computers before I even knew what psychology was. Now, I get to combine two interests and make some money while I'm doing it :)

I've got a question for you then.. what's the best link structure to get your pages indexed quickly and rank well? Can you please give an example of how you think a big site should be arganized for google to crawl and love it?
