    Hi Guys,

    Thinking to sell

    http://www.runescapeaddicts.com

    It is 4 years old

    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.runescapeaddicts.com

Has huge Google rankings, has a guide though we took it down, when guide was being sold it was making around 1k a month. For the moment it has only adsense on it, and even then its not on the main page of the wiki.

It makes around $300 a month from adsense on some really random pages. Like I said, no adsense on the wiki atm.

We converted it to a community WIKI to build content without our involvement.

The forum has over 40k posts and 600 active members and 12k total members.

Also we have a combined newsletter list of over 50k subscribers (double op-in).

Basically I am looking for some professional opinions on what this site is worth should we sell it.

    Any advice/feedback is welcomed.

    Regards
    Marc

When selling any site you normally charge 10 to 12 months worth of the sites average revenue. So in your case the site is worth around $3,000 to $3,600 based on the $300 per month earnings. If I were you I would implement the ads in the wiki and try to see if that increases the earnings any. That slight change could make the site worth 1,000's more.

Yeah looking more for a community sell not the "standard income" sell.

Anyone with a community will know the value of it.

$3k not even close to worth it :)

    Thanks for the input though.

Yeah I understand your standpoint...but a lot of people find forums worthless. It's all about what the site makes in actual cash not it's potential. Having a community is great, but doesn't really do anything for you. However, I'm sure there are people out there that would pay more for the community as well but probably not too much more. You are better off keeping the site for now though anyway IMO. I think you can raise the monthly income significantly. Good luck with it either way! :D

    charging for what?

As I said it used to sell a guide for $10, and it would make around $800 a month from that.

Pharcyded, yeah just part of the industry, I dont often buy a site for more then 10x earnings unless I can see potential.

    Marc

I decided to take the guide down to build a better community.

Focus more on a quality community then pimping a product, then will re-introduce a guide down the track.

    That was my initial plan.
