iron there is hope, I have just found out the domains I purchased were actually stolen, now the original owner has them. Is it possible to do a call back on the cash I sent to the guy via Paypal? It was about a week ago now.

You should file a dispute and chargeback with Paypal.

Even i was cheated by some user on DP, my $100 paypal payment from cheat member reversed, paypal reporting that invalid payment made or made from stolen account.
I had done lots of investigation regarding my hard try to get my $100 back, the only solution i came up with was file a complaint against that paypal or dp member which cost not less then $1k which will surely give u ur money or domains back and handcuff buyer but only after $1k investment.
so better I taught to forget my $100....and in future be alert and since haven't been cheated.

Following are simple rulez follow this and ur fail safe:

1.We have tendency of listing our domain First BIN probably at much higher price then market price, so if u find member agrees to pay u bin amount instantly even when u dont have much good offers on that then probably there is chance of u being cheated, bcoz y would someone buy costly domain from his own pocket this way.

2.If u have already deal with some buyer previously its ok, but if hes new in ur list then ask him for atleast 12 hours for domain to be transfered after payment, as paypal keeps on tracking fraud activities at around every 6-8 hours, so even if ur payment from paypal reverse within this period ur domains are safe with u.

3.The must point, always look out for buyers overall itrader, the most recent will give u idea abt his deals.

4.Last but not least, criminal mind users are always in hurry of getting domains, compared to that of true buyers, so they keep on sending u 2 or more pms within 5-10 min of transaction, forcing u to send domain quickly.

Hope this will open ur eyes and trade without being cheated.

    Green REP appreciated

    Thanks

I was cheated 17 domains. PP and GD will not support anyway. i tried to contact them in manyways with all proof.

But luckily i got back all my domains back from another guy how has bought it from the scammers.

I accpet with ronak rules as mentioned above before we do transaction for domains.

I advice you keep your thread updates. luckily you will get your domains back, if anyone bought from the scammer or else you will come to know where he is selling.

If anyone bought from the buyer they can help you to domains back and they can open the dispute to paypal to receive their money back.

icann doesnt help either, they simply tell you to contact:
    >state police
    >local police
    >FBI
    >states AG
    >personal attorney

GD didnt help 1 bit, claiming that "they dont get involved in 3rd party disputes" but had it been through their auction site they could have helped.

I still think all of us who have been scammed need to go class action suit against GD

Yeh it's an absolute joke, I contacted the "so called owner" directly and he said all I should do is try get my money back from the seller LMAO!, so basically Godaddy interfered this time with a 3rd party dispute...

This same idiot scammed me out of $600.00 early this AM and got my domain UTEENS.COM.

PayPal put a hold on the payment, GoDaddy told me in one email to contact and in another email and provide the information about why I want the domain transfer reversed.

How do these guy's get hold of other peoples passwords on paypal? Should the onus not be with the person who's paypal account has been compromised or paypal themselves for having insufficient security measures. Surely paypal could have a system whereby when a purchase is made they email the purchaser to confirm the payment before adding funds to the sellers account. Once the buyer answers the email and confirms payment then there would be very few if any chargebacks.

I am really sorry for you guys. This is too bad, people are loosing thier investment.

I will expect from DP forum to issue alert message for any fraud to all members, so that everyone is on same page and it stops scammer after one hit. I would also request all memebers to check for their handle name in search for any unauthorised thread started without your knowledge.

    Thanks

This is the total conversation via PM. This all happened between 11:19 pm -11:38 pm EST last night just before I went to bed. I had a slight uneasy feeling when I saw the Godaddy email did not match the buyers name but I was duped by the excellent trader rating associated with the buyers account. Having no idea that it was possible for someone to hijack and use an account on this forum for such activity. When I went to my computer a nd checked my emails this morning, there was the dreaded Paypal investigation email.

Such a system would be nice yeah, but the majority of people use the same password on their email, DP, paypal... etc ;)
(Not that they need anything else then the email since they can request a new password at paypal and DP by using the email. They probably won't notice as most email clients are 5+ minutes between each check and they could just be quick to remove* 'em, or find out what timezone they're in and log in while they are probably sleeping ;).)

    * Or they could just add a temporary filter which deletes the mails instantly, and remove it when they're done.

If it's big payments I guess it would be best to
#1 try to find an adress associated with the user (without asking him) and calling him.
    If that doesn't work;
#2 ask the buyer for his phone no and make sure an adress is associated with it, not sure how it is in USA, most people do it in Sweden. At least you know their adress then. If they aren't a big time scammer they probably won't bother getting a new number if their current one is associated with an addy :p

There's free trials of calls you can do from the computer which is normally free for a minute or so before cutting the call (At least there were a few years back.)

my random 5 cents flipping around all over the room
