    Microsoft is already working on.

Maybe I won't have to upgrade from XP. I'll just get windows version 7. So just wondering what would you like to see in Windows Version 7?

eventually there will be no need to upgrade right? Software can only advance and be condensed so much.

I think we'll see some great improvements in the next major release, Windows 7. I like many others are disappointed with Windows Vista and hope the next major release.

I'm hoping they simplify everything, make Windows 7 able to run off 256mb ram smoothly. I'm also guessing that there is going to be some sort of subscription based system for there services, and more emphasis on there "Live" products.

hmm i don't think that's true, software will always advance, as hardware demands it.

Windows 7 I have screenshots of that. Its a disaster what some famous websites are suggesting. Microsoft will drop vista and replace it with windows 7. I don't think this will ever happen, I think windows 7 will be released in the same way other windows have been released

they don't do UI changes till Milestone 3, It may looks like Vista but its been improved in coding wise and features added such as the drag gable width of the search bar and address bar.

I hope so ! I know it's possible to run xp on pentium 3 with 256MB, but vista ? I don't think so, even using its starter edition. What about Windows 7 ? I think it demands better hardware requirements than vista and my pentium 3 will only sit on Windows7's recycle bin :D

    yais, the screenshot is fake.

They do leave the UI for slightly later in the development and Windows 7 is not based on Windows Vista. They are apparently starting from scratch, a base of 100 files (25mb) called "MinWin".

MS is working hard on the Kernel, they are removing all unnecessary files in the kernal to make it more slimmer & stable, (like the Linux Kernal's) & once they have that one ready, that is when they will seriously start working on developing Windows 7. I feel it will be much more faster than Windows 98 running on P4 or Dual Core processors, but also much more stable then any other OS, nearing to Mac, or maybe more stable than Mac, again they will spend a lot of money & time on security. I am disappointed that Vista is slower than XP, but it is actually more stable than XP, & with the new SP1, it will be a lot more stable than XP. If only they could make it more stabler & faster.

That will be an exception because in presence of latest softwares it is even difficult to run XP on 256mb Ram.
