Hi guys I know papyal is very picky about things, I have emailed them hoping to get an official answer to my quest but still waiting on them,

My site is a social network similar to myspace, I have a fake currency on my site that users earn by participation on the site, they can use this money to buy features on my site, I think some forums do similar thing, do you think papyal will allow me to sell my money. Example a user might want to purcchase more of our play money with real USD?

As far as I am concerned they should be able to accept that.. I cannot see a reason why they should not?

Are they able to cash out their fake money? If so, then I think that it is prohibited and would fall under some sort of gambling clause. Otherwise I think it is probably OK, but risky, in a gray area. Since there's no tangible product, there is a very high risk for chargebacks and disputes. If you start getting disputes when selling services like this, Paypal will be really quick to freeze the account.

Yes, they would allow this. BUT be extremely careful with virtual goods as PayPal can be very sketchy around it. So the answer is yes, but the service isn't very high. I would recommend Moneybookers or EGold.

I think this is not allowed.

They allow cashback system. but only with using paypal. You can't exchange paypal into any other currency or E-currency. You cant sell what you dont have. So that top-up system doesn't work too. the $ on your forum is considered Ecurrency. and the feature is not belong to customer once they buy. So you dont have what they buy.

If none reports then you are fine. but i think paypal will ask you to give them the website you are using paypal with. They may do something. I dont know.

I used to ask paypal about the similar case.
My case is, can people buy item A and get item B free, or can customers top-up their online account with me (like your forum $ system)? They says it's now allowed. It can easily lead to exchanging.

EG customer buy Fbuck$ then they withdraw via Egold, or via cash, anything else, this is not allowed. You need to talk over the phone with them for more accurate information.

If you list those features as separate addon service, it may work. Paypal just dont allow you to collect customers' fund for further use.

I know quite a lot of forums doing this so no it shouldn't be a problem but its a good thing you told them , because you never know when PayPal's mood is OFF

ya, they can sell video game currency.

+ it violate the game' TOS
+ it is exactly exchanging $ into other currency system.

But they still fine. So I guess you can do it, and even for money exchange ?
Deposit by paypal, and withdraw by egold?
